Human trafficking is not just a human rights issue of other countries; rather, this modern-day slavery is taking place within our own communities which must be combatted through education and active support of the women and girls most at risk.

The goal of this website is to analyze domestic human trafficking from various feminist viewpoints discussed in my Intro to Women’s and Gender Studies class and to educate the public about the frequency with which human trafficking occurs all around us. We rarely hear about human trafficking within our own neighborhoods and believe it to occur mainly in other countries, but that could not be further from the truth for the thousands of survivors residing right here in the United States. A feminist approach is necessary to examine and analyze the ways in which trafficking and individuals involved are understood directly impacts anti-trafficking activities and the success of efforts combating trafficking.
